Worked rather hard on a Visual Basic prototype for the project, with good success. I even implemented a drag-and-drop routine which looks very professsional.

Went out for a walk round the old 1991 route in the morning - past M's old house and thought about the first era of good times (Jan 1992-Sep 1993). I say 'first' because at the time I was thinking of them as good times that had finished. It took me a moment to realise that the good times returned in May 1995, and not a moment too soon either.

End-of-diary-volume pontification: here I am a long way from November's worries about assignments - the wait for the exam results is the only thing preventing me from contemplating a hard-working but interesting future. It's all very like the end of Keep The Aspidistra Flying, and if my prospects aren't quite so assured then at least I haven't suffered so much as Gordon Comstock.
