Got straight on with the C++. Can't get my first home-made proper Windows prog to work though. Why?

Checked the SF lit. forum on Compuserve, found out that Jack Vance is now almost blind and uses a computer with voice recognition. Apparently he wants his books to be judged by themselves and doesn't want his personal life discussed. Anyway, the bloke who posted that message speculated about JV's politics. I was interested as it's something I've often speculated on myself, so I composed a rumination about it and sent it in the evening (18 seconds - not bad).
