Looked in at the Jobcentre for the last time, inquired about weekly seasons at the station.

Could find nothing to do in the afternoon. Tony Blair made an excellent Conference speech, quite moving. He invoked the 'white heat of technology' idea like Wilson - Mrs W. was on the platform. Very optimism-inspiring. He said he wanted to rule Britain for a generation and change it for good.
